Who we are

Empowering Communities Through Sustainable Development

Somali Diaspora Returnees Network (SDRN) is a national professional platform established to organize, represent, and empower Somali diaspora returnees who have returned to contribute to Somalia’s reconstruction and sustainable development.

SDRN serves as a structured coordination mechanism linking returnees with government institutions, private sector actors, and international development partners.

The return of skilled Somali diaspora professionals presents a strategic opportunity for national transformation. However, the absence of structured coordination, representation, and institutional engagement mechanisms has limited the collective impact of returnees. SDRN was formed to address this gap by providing an organized national framework for diaspora returnee engagement.

Our mission

To coordinate, support, and advocate for Somali diaspora returnees by facilitating partnerships, investments, skills transfer, and policy engagement that contribute to sustainable national development.

Our vision

A united and empowered diaspora returnee community driving Somalia’s inclusive growth, institutional strengthening, and national stability.

Strategic Objectives

1. Strengthen diaspora returnee coordination and representation.
2. Facilitate diaspora-led investment and economic growth.
3. Promote skills and knowledge transfer to public and private institutions.
